Local processing and no collection

Ultra HDR combines an SDR image and a gain map on your Mac. The app does not transmit images or personal data to the publisher or to a remote service. It has no account, advertising, telemetry or tracking service. It does not request access to your entire photo library.

Files and permissions

You select files through macOS file panels or drag and drop. The app runs in the macOS sandbox with permission to read and write user-selected files. Encoding does not modify your source images. An export can replace an existing file only after you confirm replacement in the macOS save panel.

Temporary files and retention

Encoding uses local working copies, removed at the end of each attempt. JPEG previews are stored in the app container’s temporary directory. The app removes them when no longer needed after an input or setting changes, another preview is generated, a file is successfully saved, or the app quits normally. After an abrupt termination or a deletion failure, temporary files may remain; cleanup is attempted again at the next launch when no other instance is using the container. macOS may also purge temporary files. Closing only the window is not the same as quitting the app.

Your exported JPEGs stay at the location you choose and are not removed by this cleanup. You can delete them in Finder. The app holds no remote copy to delete.

Preferences

The selected language and light/dark theme are saved locally in app preferences. These preferences are not sent to the publisher.

External links, support and the App Store

Support, privacy and creator links open your browser only when you request it. Visiting these websites is separate from local image processing; the browser and hosting provider may process technical information needed for a web connection. Purchases, downloads and updates are handled by Apple under its own terms and privacy policy.

If you voluntarily contact support by email, your address and message are used to answer your request. Do not send passwords or sensitive images. For questions about this correspondence or a deletion request, contact etienne@volumique.com.
